The patchwork fashion trend is having a revival—with colors and patterns galore, quilts are the perfect addition to your wardrobe whether or not you follow trends. I love the trend since it’s the easiest way to mix prints and patterns without any effort. Patchwork quilting has been around for an estimated 5,000 years, used everywhere from Ancient Egypt to China. In the United States, old, worn clothes were recycled into patchwork quilts during the Great Depression. It was a popular trend in the 60s and 70s with designers using leather, suede and other textiles for handbags, coats and clothing.

Currently, quilt-inspired outerwear – coats and cropped jackets – have taken over retailers in addition to flea markets and vintage shows.

My curated picks:

Jackets

Bags

Dresses & Skirts
