The Shopping List No. 7: It’s Good to be Gaudy

Whether you’re a Blanche Devereaux (Golden Girls), Fran Fine (The Nanny), or Alexis Carrington Colby (Dynasty), you must be a fan of gold and gaudy goodness. These three women have some of the most iconic wardrobes in TV history, and they elevated their wardrobe with all the extras – over the top accessories. You know I like to layer on accessories and some of the most coveted pieces in my closet are belts, necklaces and earrings.

Vintage Belts

I have SO many gaudy belts and I’m not going to stop buying them anytime soon since they help round out your wardrobe and zhuzh a simple outfit. I add belts to most dresses, two piece sets, and jumpsuits – they just look so much better cinched.

My curated picks:

Vintage Necklaces

If you love layering, then a chunky gold necklace should be on your shopping list to give you that extra flair. If you don’t love layering your jewelry, then a single statement piece will be your go to for spicing up your look without a ton of effort.

My curated picks:

Vintage Earrings

If you’re a minimalist but love the idea of vintage jewelry, then look no further than statement earrings from the classics like Givenchy or Chanel. You’ll take your denim and tee up a notch with bold earrings and a bright lipstick (you could literally wear a version of this outfit every day and be the most stylish person in the room).
