Violet’s Vintage Modern Nursery

In case you missed the big news, baby girl arrived two weeks early! Her name is Violet Alique and she’s perfect! We’re obsessed and enjoying all the newborn snuggles. While we have a ton of items on our to-do lists to complete (since we didn’t get them done before Violet’s arrival), I’m glad her nursery was done! We actually shot a nursery tour with Babyletto 3 days before my water broke so I’m glad the timing worked out.

If you’ve been following along the nursery design process, I wanted a very specific and “high design” space that we can all enjoy as Miss Violet grows up – I’m calling it Vintage Modern Nursery. Once Violet starts crawling, I think she’ll be obsessed with the Wendy Morrison Shanghai Blossom Rug since it’ll be a great sensory experience with all the prints and colors.

The rug is what set the tone and aesthetic for the room. Next I found a great vintage dresser at the Rose Bowl Flea Market and the artwork at antique centers while shopping with Splendor Collective. I knew right away that I would get the crib and glider from Babyletto which is the same brand we trusted with Harlee since their products are eco-conscious and sustainable. The Babyletto Hudson Crib is convertible which will last for several years, plus it’s made from solid New Zealand pine wood. I did a lot of research for comfortable and aesthetically beautiful gliders and winner without a doubt is the Babyletto Kiwi Glider. I went with the Boucle since it’s so soft and luxe, plus it’ll work with our decor for the long term (we can move it into a den or playroom and use for a comfy lounger). Both the crib and glider are screened for harmful chemicals to ensure it meets GREENGUARD GOLD Certification so if sustainability is a priority for you, look no further. I highly recommend both of these items and can say that Babyletto is my top choice for nursery furniture.

As for the bedding, I am so glad that Solly Baby now has crib sheets since their wraps are my FAVORITE. They are so soft and cozy and I wish I could have Violet’s leopard crib sheet for our bed. I’m also a firm believer that you can’t have a proper eclectic and vintage inspired space without a little (or a lot of) leopard!

Many of the accents like the lamp, side table, baskets, and bookshelves were all repurposed from Harlee’s nursery. I think it all came together beautifully and I love walking into Violet’s room every day!
