We decked our halls a few weeks ago (before Thanksgiving to be exact). We were all ready to start decorating the day after the Halloween decorations came down. What can I say, we love going all out for the holidays. Christmas was always pretty special for me and Alan, so we like to make it even more special for Harlee and start some new traditions. Much like most of the decor in our home, our Christmas decorations vary by room and space! I can’t commit to one particular style so I just do what I love and the unique vintage finds that are inspiring me at the moment.
Entryway – the inspiration for the entryway is granny chic! I want it to evoke the feelings and aesthetic of everything you remember from your grandma’s house, complete with Poinsettias! I swear they are so underrated for the holidays!
Kitchen – we usually don’t do much in the kitchen but decided to add some special touches since we spend so much time there. I finally found vintage Santa mugs that I loved and hung a wreath in the bookshelves to pull things together
Living Room – 90% of the ornaments on the tree are vintage including the tree topper which is almost 100 years old! The ornaments are hand me downs from my mom (so many sentimental ornaments from when I was a kid), my aunt who turned me on to the sequin and bead ornaments, and estate sales! I think next year I will definitely be adding tinsel to the tree because it needs some extra sparkle!
Office/Stairway – I love the moody vibe of the stairway, which is unique to our otherwise bright MCM home. I added fresh garland and topped with fuchsia bow and vintage glass beads.
I’d love to know, which is your favorite space?
