It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I wish I could say I’m 100% in the holiday spirit this year but it’s hard when we’re in the middle of a renovation and the house is a disaster. I’m definitely psyching myself up and seeing Harlee get excited for Christmas helps so much. We decided to decorate early this year and in typical Annette fashion, I just got around to shooting these pictures so I could share with you.
My aunt gifted me her vintage holiday ornaments so I opted for a classic look for our tree. I made bows with red velvet ribbon and added some simple gold ornaments which give the perfect touch. I know my decor taste skews more mid century modern, glam and bohemian but it’s nice to switch things up every so often!
Since Harlee has her big girl room now, she really wanted a Christmas tree in her room. We’ve had this artificial white tree for year and figured it would be perfect for her room. I put my vintage sputnik and flamingo ornaments at the top (away from her reach!) For the rest of the tree, we hit up Target to find some fun mermaid, ballerina and bird ornaments. The pink ornaments are plastic and left over from a client shoot. As most parents know, kids love to cluster ornaments within their reach (usually at the bottom) and just like to hang every ornament possible on the tree with no thought to whether or not they “go together”. The great thing about a tree in a kid’s room, is they can do whatever they want with the tree! Harlee decorates her tree at least 3 times a day and I’m cool with it!
In our entryway, I added faux garland and an advent calendar to change things up. Harlee is counting down to Christmas while I’m counting down the days to finishing the renovation (can you tell I’m over it?).
I hope you enjoy these few snaps and have yourself a very merry Christmas!
